Optimum television installation

October 18, 2018

The facts are in... the best height and viewing distance for your TV.  WHAT?  You don't have a TV?  Well according to the latest statistics  (from the US, we think Canada would be very similar), 96.7 % of households have at least one TV in the home.  My guess is that many are set up improperly for optimum viewing.

So what is the correct height and viewing distance?  Never fear, Grant Painting Group has the answers:

1.  Optimum height is 42" from the floor.

2.  Optimum viewing distance from the television is 2.5 times the diagonal length of TV screen.

Sounds simple right?  Well, there is a bit more to it.  Is the TV in an area where viewers will be sitting or standing?  is the height from the top of the TV or the bottom?  Is the TV 40" or 75"?

Fortunately, we found a guide on Houzz, and here it is.
