While watching the endless diatribe of Super Bowl hype last week (or should I say last month!) the thought occured to me that many people use their favourite team's colours to create "theme rooms." Take that one step further and I am sure you have seen theme rooms for children that are so prevalent today.
Whether it is a child's room bursting with the latest Disney character motifs, or the traditional “man cave” basement decked out in team colours paint can take these dedicated rooms to a whole new level.
Let's take a look at a couple of theme rooms:
Creating a unique boy’s room can be challenging. But, the sailing theme room at right embodies sophistication and class. The sky blue paint applied to the upper section of the wall rests perfectly above the complimentary antique white that wraps the bottom of the ¾ of the wall. Keeping perfectly scaled murals to two perfectly appointed areas is just the right amount of added theme art. Cleverly utilizing the ceiling for one of them ties an otherwise blank ceiling space to the rest of the room creating a flawless sailing inspired oasis.
The Maple Leafs colours are evident in the room at right. Taking the Leafs's blue, which by the way is HEX #003876, and using a complimentary shade, one can see how this room will shape up quite nicely with some Maple Leafs pictures and memorabilia.
